NYT writer is guest speaker

Barre Montpelier Times Argus - BURLINGTON — The annual benefit for the Vermont Women’s Fund will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 3 at the University of Vermont Davis Center in Burlington. The event features guest speaker Jodi Kantor, an author and award-winning journalist with The New York Times. Jane Lindholm of Vermont Public Radio will moderate the event. The Vermont Women’s Fund is a component fund with the Vermont Community Foundation.Kantor is known for her reporting that covers politics, gender and the workplace. Her 2006 article about working mothers and breastfeeding, “On the Job, Nursing Mothers Find a 2-Class System,” inspired two Vermont women to create Mamava, a manufacturer of freestanding lactation suites for nursing mothers. Tickets to the May 3 benefit are $50 per person and are available online at www.vermontcf.org/May3.
